Caring leadership is the key to mending the divide between frontline and remote/office-based workers. If leaders aren’t comfortable listening to what their employees need, and employees aren’t comfortable telling the truth about their experiences, workers won’t stick around.

The good news is that leaders have the ability to listen to understand, lead with an open mind and an open heart, and communicate in an intentional way in order to keep everyone in the loop about changes that concern them.

That listening can happen during regularly scheduled meetings with management, by inviting feedback through surveys and other mediums, and by generally improving the communication flow between managers and employees, while making it a priority to work toward common goals.
