It takes courage to be the Director of Compliance. With ethics and integrity at the core of the role, Maureen is dauntless in her pursuit of what is right. Maureen does not hesitate to tactfully introduce di cult conversations in an effort to find and agree on a solution. Rather than focusing on placing the blame, Maureen focuses on finding a solution. Maureen’s staff follows her lead, without fear, to face challenges and speak up more assertively about important issues. As a business leader, Maureen has put courage inside of her people to encourage them to do what is right for the company.
Maureen empowers her staff by delegating authority and decision-making, sharing information, and asking for input. Maureen’s leadership encourages her team to bring innovation into what is often known as an administratively routine department. Maureen understands that empowering leadership is also about building trust, mentoring, and supporting employee development. Maureen makes a point to hold ongoing meetings with her team and host regular open hours. She is inclusive, transparent, clear and concise with her goals and expectations. Maureen mentors her team and helps them with goal setting, performance strategies and accountability with an opportunity mindset.
