Yesterday marked day 9 of our month-long Summer Series: 25 minute daily talks all throughout July. This session features Aimee Lucas, Senior Principal Analyst, The XM Institute. Aimee’s talk covered The Human Experience Cycle.
Our memories are flawed!
Our memories are not recording every moment exactly as it happened, we record snapshots that are important or impactful as separate pictures. From those pictures we construct a narrative. Sometimes we remember experiences exactly as they happened, but more often than not we remember the experience differently. That’s why attitudes and perceptions are important because they shape what we remember. And, it’s our memories that enforce attitudes like “I love my company” or “I hate my boss” which shapes our behaviour, which then directly impacts the success or failure of an organisation.
Aimee’s talk broke down how to meet employee expectations, understand employee perceptions and drive the behaviors you really want from your people.
