Hello,

Wow…what another month of growing, sharing and learning for us here at The EEA.

This month, we launched the Alliance in Africa. Matt Manners from The Employee Engagement Awards presented at the annual IPM Conference along with some key industry leaders. A big warm welcome to our new members in Africa.

Our ‘Voice of the Employee‘ event was a huge success. Held at Ministry of Justice in London. Our guest speakers gave a great and varied insight in the successful work they’ve done in their organisations. Feedback from the event was hugely positive with “What a brilliant informative event, I loved that the speakers shared stories from their own business” . For those who were unable to make the event, Adela from our team has written an event summary.

I sat down with Gethin Nadin, author of A World of Good – for a whiskey and a chat to learn more about his motivations, inspiration and key learnings when writing his debut book which takes us on a world tour of lessons in Employee Experience.

We also held our partnership launch event with Instinctif Partners at their wonderful offices in London City. Over 50 engagement practitioners joined us for an evening of all things ‘partnerships’ and a fascinating panel discussion. Aimee, from team EEA, has written an event summary which can also be found on our blog.

What’s coming up

We’re absolutely delighted to announce our first Midlands, UK event in February next year. Hosted at one of the ‘Top 10 Coolest offices in the UK’  and with the interest list growing daily, this event is not to be missed.

If you’re based in New York or happen to be there for your Christmas shopping next week, don’t forget there are EE winter drinks taking place. Booking essential.

We recognise lots of people prefer to stay indoors in January so we’re extending our learning opportunities throughout January to online. We’ll be hosting three webinars the first of which is an first insight into the latest research from PeopleLab, exclusively for our members to access first!

Also, landing in your inboxes next week will be The EEA’s first official piece of research – a survey titled ‘Employee Engagement – Ready for 2018.’ Keep your eyes peeled as we’d really love you all to share your thoughts, plans and agendas for next year. This will not only help us shape what we offer you but to share the report & findings with the wider community.

Finally, many thanks to all our members for the well wishes on my neck injury last month. I was very humbled and encouraged not only be the response and care you showed, but also the response to my thoughts on how as businesses we build relationships to act as a community. Thank you Aimee Lucas, from Temkin Group who sent me a fabulous book  about how community spirit comes together in the workplace. It’s titled “Awakening Compassion at Work.”

Wishing you all a wonderful December, stay safe and have fun during the festive celebrations and I look forward to speaking with you all again very soon.

~ Ruth
