Employees are tired of the endless emails and the constant exhorting to be smarter, faster, better business builders, more tech savvy, and other tactical and mechanical aids to greater productivity. As we emerge from the pandemic, I believe we need a different sort of leader—a leader with compassion, empathy, emotional capacity and depth, and our employees want to be inspired and to know that they are safe, supported, encouraged and—yes even this—loved. They don’t need skill training—they are yearning for inspiration—they already know what to do. A recent blog of mine speaks to that issue.
