Always understanding that family comes first, Scott has always lead with understanding and kindness. Without climbing the ladder, Scott listens and understands each person’s unique situation. He leads with compassion and empathy while encouraging others in and out of work. In situations where employees are struggling (specifically during the pandemic) he would listen and put himself in their situation, make adjustments that offered them support.
Willing to communicate the team needs to upper management/other teams, Scott has been willing to push change; since taking over as the helpdesk manager he pushed to change old tools and deliver a better product. Scott has asked his team to make changes to the way they work, to try new processes and see what works and what doesn’t. Sometimes that includes failing, but he knows he can rise up and learn from those failures. After working out the processes with his team he’s now pushing to drive change within other IT leads to bring better services to our customers.
We appreciate the encouragement to do better and never settle for good enough. Scott always does what he can to put the interests of his employees first. This year alone Scott had two of his employees promoted to new positions. He was extremely happy for them, once he understood their goals he pushed to help them, challenge them and give them opportunities to do more. Additionally he pushes and motivates people outside of work by getting to know them and their personal goals; encouraging them to achieve and do their best.
