Inspire Club Podcast: EP #39 – Tony Martignetti
This week’s Inspire Club Podcast guest is Tony Martignetti — Chief Inspiration Officer at Inspired Purpose Partners, author of Climbing the Right Mountain, and host of The Virtual Campfire Podcast.
Tony tells Matt Manners about one of his greatest influences, Henri Termeer, the late CEO of Genzyme. Henri’s ability to balance vision with genuine human connection shaped Tony’s understanding of leadership. “He’d stop by your desk, talk about what mattered to you and remind you that everything started with patients,” Tony recalls. “He left an imprint that still ripples through the industry.”
That example also revealed what was missing elsewhere. After years in corporate leadership, Tony reached a breaking point: “I looked around the boardroom and realised people didn’t care — they treated others like cogs.” It was that moment he chose to “leave the room to change the room,” starting his mission to help people lead with purpose, clarity, and connection.
Tony’s coaching work now focuses on helping individuals rediscover their “unique brilliance.” He encourages leaders to integrate their hidden identities and to lead with love, not fear: “Don’t try to be of value — be of love.”
He also shares timeless advice from his mentors: “Amateurs compete; professionals create.” and “People value you to the extent that you value yourself.”
Tune in for a heartfelt discussion about purpose, presence, and what it truly means to lead with humanity.
