2018: The Year of the Employee

2018: The Year of the Employee

• Business leaders planning to increase focus on attracting, retaining and energizing employees in 2018
• 43% more leaders than 2017 will give employees more attention than other audiences
• Business leaders low in confidence when it comes to attracting and retaining the best talent

I wanted to bring to your attention a new report released yesterday which highlights an impending battle for talent that really starts to put employee engagement and the employee experience front and centre.

The report, entitled, the Worldcom Confidence Index (CI) explores the issues global CEOs and CMOs believe will most influence business success in 2018. The results show that business leaders should expect to face a battle for talent in 2018. The report indicates that 43% more organisations are planning to give most attention to employees in 2018 – the only audience to see an increase in attention since 2017.

Regardless of the reasons for more attention, I obviously think it’s a very good thing as delivering a better experience to employees can deliver enormous benefits to them and value to the business. I’m delighted that an Employee Engagement Awards winner – Celine Schilinger from Sanofi Pasteur is recognised in the report as a great example of motivating employee innovation.

I recommend it as a thought-provoking read if you plan on making 2018 the year you focus on employees.
