Fama’s modern online candidate screening makes hiring great people easy.

Fama was founded in 2015 by CEO, Ben Mones, as a result of dealing with a workplace misconduct issue as a manager that could have been prevented by screening the employee’s publicly available online information prior to hire. Today, Fama is the largest online screening provider and has run 45 million online and social media background checks. Fama has supported 3,600 customers and is currently the online screening provider for Sterling, HireRight, and First Advantage, as well as 95% of the global background screening industry.

In 2022, Fama successfully executed its series B funding from some of the largest investment firms in the country, bringing total funding to over $30 million. Fama then acquired its largest competitor, Social Intelligence, in 2023 and secured its place as the largest online candidate screening company on the market.

As we continue to rapidly grow, Fama has spent the past year focusing on responding to customer requests and innovating with new product features. So far this year, we have launched 2 major enhancements with screening video on TikTok and Reels. We also kicked off a beta program for our newest solution, Instant Fit. The focus on our product has led us to scale our product adoption an entire year earlier than planned.

One of the key areas that’s allowed us to do this is the fact that Fama is the only online candidate screening provider that leverages AI to screen at scale. This enables us to support thousands and thousands of online screens per day. We work with some of the largest companies in the U.S. and abroad.
